  • Condition: PURCHASED NEW IN THE 1970s AND NEVER USED, BUT IT LOOKS AUTHENTIC. IT DOES HAVE SEVERAL OXIDED FINGERPRINTS ON THE BLADE, WHICH IS NOT SHARP, SO IT IS MOST LIKELY A REPRODUCTION, MADE IN TOLEDO, SPAIN. THE HANDLE WITH GUARD AND POMMEL IS 9-1/2" LONG, WITH A HAND-CARVED WOODEN HANDLE AND BRASS GUARD AND POMMEL. THE 36" STEEL BLADE, IS INTRICATELY DECORATED, ETCHED WITH FLORAL AND FISH DESIGNS ON BOTH SIDES, AND WITH TWO SERPENTINE DRAGONS ON EACH SIDE. MADE IN TOLEDO, SPAIN, IT'S ALREADY VINTAGE-- AND POSSIBLY ANTIQUE. BLADE IS NOT SHARP, BUT IT LOOKS AND FEELS AUTHENTIC, AND VERY, VERY MASSIVE AND HEAVY (SEE DETAIL PHOTOS).

    MOORISH SCIMITAR, HUGE 45" WITH A 36" STRAIGHT SINGLE EDGE BLADE, SLIGHTLY CURVED AND NOTCHED ALONG THE TOP.  VINTAGE, AND POSSIBLY ANTIQUE MEDIEVAL REPLICA WEAPON, MADE IN TOLEDO, SPAIN WITH A 2-1/2" BRASS POMMEL, A 6" HAND-CARVED WOODEN HILT, A 1" BRASS GUARD, AND A MASSIVE 36" SINGLE EDGED BLADE WITH ELABORATE FLORAL, FISH AND DOUBLE DRAGON DESIGN ETCHINGS ON BOTH SIDES.  WITH AN AGED, AUTHENTIC APPEARANCE, IT LOOKS LIKE A REAL MEDIEVAL WEAPON. TOO MASSIVE, HEAVY AND DANGEROUS TO BE USED IN MOCK BATTLE, IT SHOULD BE USED FOR DISPLAY ONLY.
