    Description

    A worthy blade for any Roman Soldier or gladiator... or a trophy for their victorius enemy, our Centurion model gladius features a hardwood and bone handle with solid full tang contruction (not welded!).  Sword ships unsharpened but will take an edge.  Scabbard is done in brushed vegetable tanned (period proper) leather and brass.  Takes dye extremely well.  Blade is approximately 22 inches and is a Pompeii style.  As is proper on roman swords the edge goes all the way to the handle with no ricasso indicative of later model swords.  The scabbard hangers are NOT brazed on, but are part of the furniture and very durable.  The brass work features engraving and cutouts based on an original from the Guttmann collection of ancient artifacts.  Extremely well made and ready for the field.
