Here is a rare CORRECT LEFT HAND vintage and high quality 1960's made in USA Ed Kranepool Model TN 50 baseball 1st baseman's mitt or glove for a Left Hand thrower and thus fits on the right hand. NOTE that Ed Kranepoolwas a Left handed thrower, so this mitt would be a CORRECT HAND mitt, if you like to collect those mitts and gloves. The mitt was made in the USA and is adult sized measuring 11.5" long through the pocket. The mitt was made from 1965-1968 and sold for .95 - 16.95 in that time period, so it was a mid-line mitt. Stamped on the front of the mitt is The Rawlings Trapper, Pro Design, Ed Kranepool Autograph, Hinged Pad, Rawlings, TN 50, Made in U.S.A. On the back is stamped Big T Trapper, "The Finest in the Field!", U.S. Pat. No. 2,625,625 and 100% Nylon Sewn. There is a nice red original Rawlings patches sewn on the back.
There is some mostly faded owner writing on the backside of the mitt (see pics). Also a few small black specs below that writing on the back. The inside and outside stamping is all readable. Mitt has a nice red Rawlings cloth patch on the back. The leather is still soft on this mitt. Interior leather is soft and smooth and has no chafing on it. The one pic looks like it shows some creasing or chafing, but it isn't. The lacing appears original and intact. The leather piping is a soft with light wear. The thumb & pinky loops are functional and useable. A nice mitt overall!
Ed Kranepool was a left handed thrower who played first base and outfield for 18 seasons from 1962-1979 all with the Mets. He is best known as a member of the New York Mets Miracle Mets team that stunned the world and the Baltimore Orioles by winning the 1969 World Series. He made a great diving catch in the outfield that many people still remember to this day. He also played on the Mets 1973 World Series team that lost to Oakland. He was an NL All-Star in 1965 for the Mets.
I have other gloves and mitts on eBay ending now and I like to combine shipping whenever possible. If you win more than one glove you'll have to pay the grand total for shipping. But I'll refund you the difference back on the price of combined shipping. Or I'll send out an invoice if possible. 79
