    Description

In the Late Bronze Age an Antenna Sword with iron blade appeared around 650-475 B.C.
Antenna swords have an unusual hilt with the two long projections at the end of the handle. Whether the said design is for combat or for display is debatable. Kris Cutlery Antenna Sword design was patterned from existing artifacts found in some museums. Even though not exactly a duplicate it captures the essence of the original design.
Using a 1050/1060 steel, the blade is 20-3/4” long and 1/4” thick near the base. Two grooves in the center of the blade extend 12-1/4” from the base. The blade is hardened. A thick blackened iron guard is used. The wood grip is has an oval cross section and is 4” long. A “U” shape blackened flat bar with thickened terminals are attached to the back of the grip and is pinned to the blade’s tang.
Thick black leather scabbard is used with a belt loop on the top back area. Balance point of the sword is 3-1/2” from the guard. The sword weighs 1.8# without the scabbard.
