    Description

Elephant Parade Limited Edition hand painted replica Elephant - Satao
Hand painted Elephant Parade replica Satao elephant. Limited Edition Collectible item.
The elephants from Elephant Parade are produced and hand-painted in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Quality control has a very high priority, but due to the different sizes, shapes, decorations and designs of the elephants, there might be some deviation between two identical elephants. Each replica is part of an exclusive limited edition and is unique and available for a limited period of time. All purchased elephants will be delivered with a certificate listing name, artist, year, parade, production and serial number.

    Artists' Inspiration:
The elephant is covered in shapes that at first glance appear random and unrelated. Prior to the introduction of plastics, ivory was used for a wide range of ornamental items. These included pool balls, piano keys, dominoes, Scottish bagpipes, cutlery handles, chopsticks, buttons and even guitar bridges. Synthetic substitutes for ivory have long been developed and using ivory is completely unnecessary. Despite this, the illegal ivory trade and elephant poaching continues to this day. The design highlights this, with pool balls for the elephants eyes represent number 88, which in Chinese culture stands for good fortune. The elephant design is partially inspired by Elephant Festival, which is celebrated in Jaipur city in Rajasthan state in India. It is held on the day of Holi festival.

20% of Elephant Parade's net profits are donated to elephant welfare and conservation projects.
Every sale helps us give funds to elephant conservation projects.
We support three charities doing amazing work for elephants in different parts of the world -
    Elephant Family
work mostly with Asian elephants in India and South East Asia, their work includes saving and maintaining habitats and working with communities to avoid conflict where elephant habitats and human civilisations overlap.
    The
    David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation
works in animal conservation all over the world but our donations go towards their projects supporting African elephants in Uganda through the Waterways project and at the elephant orphanage in Zambia.
    The
    Save Elephant Foundation
is based at the Elephant Nature Park in the Mae Taeng Valley, just north of Chiang Mai, Thailand, and specialise in providing care and assistance to Thailand's captive elephant population through rescue, rehabilitation, and education within communities.
