1997 Percy Crosby's Skippy 11" Reproduction Porcelain Postage Stamp Doll w/COA
In July 1997 the United States Postal Service produced stamps honoring Classic American Dolls. Together, with the Designer Guild Collection (Limited edition artist dolls) a small series of these dolls were reproduced (surprisingly well. As stated they were: "painstakingly crafted using the same methods and materials as described in original patent documents") so that todays collectors could enjoy them.
This 26" doll has a soft cloth body, with molded hand painted head, hand painted features and textured hair. Her lower limbs are painted cloth, she has stitched detailed fingers and toes. To my surprise, the Chase makers mark is stamped on her torso. She is wearing her original sheer, lace trimmed, pale yellow dress, and pantalettes.
In original box which shows some wear. Comes with , copy of newspaper ad, and certificate. Doll is very nice as shown
